On Saturday the 14th in the Mobius Theatre a staged reading of an original student play entitled: “The Fit Of The Coastlines” was presented by multiple UConn students to the public.

The play, which chronicles a brief and yet highly emotional moment in the relationship between two women, known only as “22” and “42”, was written by Theatre Studies BA Freshman Emma Mathieu. Mathieu has been working on the show for over a year now and is excited about the prospect of her “work in progress” coming to life on stage.

The actresses for the staged reading were Braley Degenhardt, a Sophomore BFA Acting Major who plays “22”, and Alex Brokowski, a Freshman Economics Major who plays “42”. The director is Alana Conti, a Freshman BA Theatre Studies Major.
The show was well-recieved by the small, attentive audience and was impressively organized, mostly by the underclassmen involved with the reading.

“The Fit Of The Coastlines” is likely to be staged and performed fully sometime next year. For now, the play has made a smart and distinct impression on the theatre community here at UConn.

Olivia is a Journalism and English double major who spends entirely too much time watching Netflix and is not even sorry about it. She loves to sing, write feminist musings, hang out with her pets and fantasize about a world in which everything tastes like Nutella. In another life she is best friends with Veronica Mars and married to Logan Echolls (and they're both totally cool with it).
