You’ve seen the movies. You know, the ones with where all of the college students spend their week off on some warm beach, partying from dusk ‘till dawn. And your mantra slowly becomes, “just a few more weeks until I get to let loose and have some fun with my friends.”

But then the harsh reality of college hits you: your bank account adds up to a grand total of $1.17, and you can’t afford a Subway sandwich, let alone a plane ticket. Here’s what you wanted spring break to be versus what it actually ends up being.

You expect to take so many photos while having fun on the beach that you’ll have content for your insta for the next month. Most of your days would look sort of like this:

… but it actually turns into you waking up at 2 in the afternoon and not even changing out of your pajamas while you eat the 5 boxes of girl scout cookies your mom bought you.

Or you’re so ready to spend all day hanging out and having fun on the beach while getting a tan…

… but you actually end up spending all day laying your bed, binging every show you come across on Netflix.

Spending all night partying with you friends…

… but spending all day napping and rewatching your favorite movies.

You’re so ready to spend your nights going to bars and drinking with your friends…

… but instead every night is spent at home with your family trying to get you to tell them about your wild nights back at school.

Regardless of where you spent your spring break, a week free of classes it always welcome.
