How to Have a Productive Winter Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Conn chapter.

Not having classes to attend is great, but sometimes we might feel like it’s the only thing providing structure in our lives. Now that academic requirements are out of the way for the next month, it’s time to focus on other things.

1.  Get ahead in next semesters classes

If you can get the textbooks for your classes ahead of time, you can prepare yourself for what you’re in for next semester during your time off. You can even make a good impression by e-mailing the professor ahead of time.

2.  Get a job

During the holiday season, stores might be looking for more workers. If you could do with a little extra money, see if anyone is hiring.

3.  Stay organized

When we aren’t in classes, life sometimes gets away from us and we might forget what day it is. Try to stay organized this winter, and not let the lack of obligations get to you.

4.  Meet up with friends from home

Chances are, most of your high school friends are going to be back in town for a few weeks. Take this opportunity to catch up with them and try not to let old friendships fade.

5.  Catch up on sleep

You’ve been working hard all semester, so take some time to slow down and not worry about getting things done. Catch up on sleep, watch tv, and wear your pajamas all day. There’s nothing stopping you!
