Fabulous Fall-Themed Birthday Ideas For All The Fall Babies

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Conn chapter.

Every year, we anticipate the one day where we can make things all about ourselves. Luckily, there are so many different ways to celebrate your special day, and what better way to do it than to base your birthday on your birth season? If you’re a fall baby like me, it’s quite obvious we can’t celebrate our birthdays down by the beach, or spend an afternoon picking spring flowers. Colder weather is a bit of a damper when it comes to plans, but there are so many different ways in which you can make a fall birthday fun. I’ve selected some of my favorite ways to celebrate a birthday throughout the fall season. Even if it’s not to celebrate a birthday, these plans will guarantee a fun, fall-filled get-together with all your closest friends!

Spooky movie night Sleepover

When the weather starts getting crisp, and the leaves start to change into that orange and red hue, there’s nothing better than busting out your favorite Halloween movies and eating some caramel kettle corn. Movie nights are for everyone, whether it’s in the spring, summer, or fall. There are so many options for Halloween-themed movies and many TV channels offer Halloween specials of some of your favorite shows. From Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, Freeform, and so many more, watching something fun with friends will surely make for great birthday plans. Get some matching pajamas, grab a favorite movie night snack, and make your birthday sleepover spooktacular!

Pumpkin decorating party

One of the many benefits of fall is that pumpkins are finally in season! If you are a little more on the artistic side, spend your birthday decorating pumpkins with friends. From small pumpkins to giant jack-o-lanterns, decorating pumpkins is fun for everyone — no matter what age. There are so many different ways in which pumpkin decorating could make a great party idea. If you’re like me, a painting party is the way to go. Pinterest has been my best friend when it comes to finding little detailed paintings, or big canvas paintings to inspire my pumpkin decoration. Similarly, carving pumpkins can make for a great time too. If you want to take things up a notch, grab your friends and bring them to a local pumpkin patch. You can pick out your pumpkins and even go for a short hayride around the field!

Costume Party

One of my all-time favorite birthdays I’ve done in the fall was the time I threw my very own costume party! Even if your birthday isn’t in October, costume parties are a great way to get together with friends and make some fun memories. Friends can come dressed up as anything: angels, movie characters, or even the person they’re celebrating! There is no such thing as dressing up too much or too little at a costume party. You can even make up some fun games to play with all your friends or have a costume contest. Don’t forget to bring your camera to take some cute pictures!

Potluck Party

Halloween isn’t the only fall holiday that we should acknowledge…there is also Thanksgiving! If you are a die-hard foodie like me, having a potluck dinner party is a great way to eat some delicious food while also spending time with some of your favorite friends. Each person can bring one food item of their choice, and together it’ll make for a phenomenal table that may or may not beat your yearly Thanksgiving meal. If you want to make things extra fun, have some of your friends and family bring foods of different colors, around-the-world foods, or your favorite meals! After the big dinner, there are so many ways to keep the party going. Play some fun games, sing some karaoke, or even watch a movie together!

The fall offers so many amazing things aside from the comfort and happiness that comes with the foliage and all its holidays. Having a birthday is a plus during such a beautiful season, and finding the right plans to acknowledge it doesn’t have to be hard.

Grab your friends, find a fun fall activity, and celebrate you!
