In honor of National Eating Disorder Awareness Week, Her Campus UConn is reminding women everywhere that YOU are stunning. Having a negative body image is unfortunately, very common today. Everyone has those days that they just cannot help but feel less beautiful than others. A negative body image can affect all aspects of your life from relationships to grades. This week, celebrate your beauty! Here is a list of 5 different ways to promote a positive self-image on even your hardest days:

1. Eat foods that make you feel good

The term “clean eating” has evolved over the past few years. Fruit, vegetables and lots of water not only give us energy but also overall make us feel better about our bodies.

2. Highlight the qualities you love about yourself

Spend extra time on your hair or on accenting your best facial features.

3. Leave inspirational notes/quotes on the mirror

Having a little reminder every morning that you are a smart, gorgeous collegiette makes all the difference, so write your favorite inspirational quote down and post it on your mirror.

4. Choose friends that make you feel good about yourself

There is nothing better than having girlfriends that make you feel beautiful on the inside and out. Stick with the ones that make you love you and leave the rest behind!

5. Treat yourself every once in a while

Buy that shirt you love or have that extra piece of chocolate – loving yourself starts with treating yourself right!
