5 Ways to Stay Motivated for Finals

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Conn chapter.

Everyone knows the struggles of finals week, so here are a few tips to stay motivated and energized!

1.  Remember that summer is just around the corner! There is nothing better than the feeling of relief after working so hard all semester. Stay focused and don’t forget that you’ll be at the beach before you know it.

2.  Turn off your phone. Between social media, endless emails, texting and Snapchat, there is no way to get your studying done when you are constantly on your phone. It’s only a week, so try your best to either put it on silent or far away from your study area.

3.  Find a study spot that works for you! Whether it’s at the library, Starbucks, the U, or even your bed, make sure it is free of distractions. Also, try to find the times at which you study best; are you a morning person or a night owl?

4.  Eat well. With the right foods to fuel your body, you will feel energized and ready to work. Foods such as fruit, eggs, whole grains, and things with lots of nutrients will allow you to do your best work.

5.  Make time to workout and relieve your stress. It is important to set aside time for a workout, even a light one! It is beneficial to take a study break and clear your mind of all the stressors you have been dealing with. It can also give you a burst of energy and allow you to focus when you go to study afterwards.

Good luck on finals collegiettes, you’re in the home stretch!
