Ring-in the Spring With These Clothing Pieces

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Alberta chapter.

Now that the days of -30-degree weather are finally behind us, and it’s warm enough to not need to wear the same winter jacket everyday, it’s the perfect time to bring out and update your spring wardrobe. I’ve come to find that the key to creating a sustainable and practical wardrobe is to invest in pieces which you can wear for the majority of the year. With this in mind, here are some clothing pieces that allow you to do just that:

Wide-leg pants

There’s a reason they’re trending so heavily at the moment. Far more comfortable and airy than thier skinny counterparts, wide-leg pants have taken catwalks (and my closet) by storm. I’ve found that they are surprisingly flattering when you find the right size; as long as the waist fits, you’re good to go.

Cropped pants

I was initially hesitant about trying out this style. When I’d last tried it out, I ended up looking like I had on a pair of pants that were a few sizes too small, a far cry from the stylish pictures I’d seen on Instagram.

The key is finding a length that works for your height; around high-ankle length works for most people. From culotes to chinos, theres something for everyone

Loose shirts

These have become an essential component of several of my favourite outfits recently; versatile enough to wear in almost any setting, they allow you to create a wide variety of looks.
