From nostalgic classics to new Netflix originals, there’s nothing like a Christmas movie to put you in a good mood. Whether it’s during your study breaks, lazy days, or on the train or bus to school, there’s something about Christmas movies that pushes you to keep going – to just hold in there until Christmas day.

If you celebrate Christmas or if you don’t, the holiday takes over the city from festivals, charity drives, sales and so much more. Just because you don’t celebrate it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy this time of year!

So, for all of HerCampus’ lovely readers, Christmas celebrator or not, here is a list of a few things I’m excited to watch (or re-watch) this holiday season! If you love sappy, mostly-predictable movies that make you feel like you just drank a delicious cup of hot cocoa, you may enjoy these too.

The Knight Before Christmas

This Netflix Original came out a while ago, but I have been waiting for the snow to hit the ground to watch it! Vanessa Hudgens plays a high school science teacher who encounters a time-traveling knight. My inner nine-year-old is screaming with excitement about another Vanessa Hudgens movie (and also crying at the death of Zanessa #rip).

Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmas

Growing up, I had this three-part movie on VHS. Now with Disney Plus, I’m excited to watch it again. Something about Christmas always brings out my nostalgia and need to re4visit my childhood through movies, songs, and Christmas treats. The first part of the movie follows Donald Duck’s nephews – Huey, Dewey, and Louie – as they get caught in a time loop. The second part is “A Very Goofy Christmas” and the last is a sweet tale about gift-giving starring Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

Christmas Episodes of my Fave Shows

They may not be movies, but Christmas specials are just as fun to watch and are the perfect length for a study break! Here’s a list of some of my favorite Christmas episodes:

The Office season 2, episode 10

The Office season 9, episode 9

Friends season 2, episode 9

Friends season 3, episode 10

Community season 2, episode 11

Community season 3, episode 10

Merry Happy Whatever

Is hiring former Disney Channel stars for Netflix Original Christmas Movies a thing? Because I’m here for it. This eight-episode long series stars Bridgit Mendler and Ashley Tisdale and surrounds an LA musician trying to win the affections of his girlfriend’s family.

Santa Girl

Remember what I said earlier about the whole Disney Channel thing? Jennifer Stone (Harper from Wizards of Wavery Place) plays Santa Claus’ daughter that wants to avoid her father’s plans for her and instead experience something magical ~college~ I don’t know how I feel about the description of this movie, but nonetheless, I’m sure that it will make me cry.
