Holiday Gifts on A Budget

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Alberta chapter.

The holidays are back, and with school costs increasing, gift-giving can be a little pricey. However, gifts don’t have to be super expensive to be thoughtful. There are many great gifts out there for a reasonable price that will be sure to make anyone on your list happy. I’m going to be sharing some of my recommendations for holiday gifts that won’t break the bank.

Bath and Body Works 3-Wick Candles

Everyone loves candles. They can be used for decor, or you can burn them and have your entire space smelling amazing. Bath and Body Works has a huge collection ranging from Christmas scents to regular everyday ones, and enough selection to find a scent that will fit anyone’s style. These candles are huge and last a very long time, making them the perfect gift to consider for friends or family members.

Price: $24.50 (but keep an eye out for sales and deals this time of year)

Old Navy Fuzzy Socks

Sure to put a smile on someone’s face and keep their toes warm, these socks come in a variety of colors and patterns, and some even have character themes. These socks are super warm and soft, good for anyone on your holiday wish list, and are super useful during the cold winter months.

Price: $9.99

H&M PomPom Knit Hats

Why not get something they can use every year? Winter is a cold season and I’m sure anyone would be grateful for a new winter hat. These hats are good quality and keep your head warm, making them amazing gifts for their price. One size fits most, so there’s no need for returns or to worry about sizes. These come in a variety of colors and styles and they are such a reasonable price, you could buy one for yourself too.

Price: $12.99

H&M Gloves

While you’re in the outwear aisle picking up that hat, why not add some gloves to make a set, or grab a pair of gloves and knock off another item on your list. People lose gloves fast and these come in a set of 2-pairs. They come in a variety of colors and are finger-gloves which is a huge bonus.

Price: $6.99

Chapters Eyelash Mug & Socks Set

Good for any of your girlfriends, this set covers the two essentials; a coffee mug, (because coffee is LIFE) and socks to keep your toes warm. This is a super cute gift (score!) and it is useful (double score!). The socks come in a neutral grey which works for everyone, and the mug is simple and not over the top. This set is a must if you know someone who loves keeping warm and drinks coffee or tea.

Price : $18.00

The Disney Store Stuffed Animals

Because you’re never too old for Disney. The Disney Store usually has a sale going on every couple of weeks for Disney Plushes. These are super cute, can be personalized based on preference, and are sure to make anyone smile.

Price $16.00

Hopefully these gift ideas will save you a few dollars and make your loved ones smile. Remember, it isn’t about how expensive the gift is, but rather it’s the thought that counts.
