Katie is the President of the Club Sports Water Polo team. She started playing freshman year of college and hasn’t stopped since. She is an excellent example of women in positions of leadership on Tulane’s campus.

Biggest Inspiration: “My parents played water polo when they were younger, and had so many good stories about their good times, so I started to play as a freshman”.
 
Favorite pickup line: “Are you a fermata?  Because I want you to hold me.”
 
Favorite place to go in New Orleans: “Audubon Park is gorgeous.”
 
What other sports do you like to play? “I really enjoyed boxing at Reily over last semester and the summer. It was a great workout and really fun.”
 
What kind of things do you do with the water polo team? “During practice, we swim to warm up, we do passing and shooting drills, and then we scrimmage. We also go to tournaments at other schools, like University of Florida and University of Tennessee.”
 
What is your most memorable water polo moment? “Once I played goalie, and I didn’t know anything. I let two shots in. You can see the game better from the goal, but it is a lot harder! I was just thrown in! It was a learning experience.”

Catherine Combs is a Tulane University Alumna, who majored in Communications and Political Science. She  has always had a soft spot for books, writing, and anything Chanel. When not searching for the final touches to her latest outfit idea, she can be found reading.
