If the Cast of Hannah Montana Attended Tulane

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tulane chapter.

Miley Stewart

Because Miley was unable to get involved with her high school, she becomes super involved as a freshman at Tulane.  At the club fair she signs up for every club, becomes involved with the Tulane Equestrian Team, the Cheer Team, Green Wave Ambassadors, Green Envy, Freshman Leadership Program, Best Buddies, the Hullabaloo, Honor Board, and more.  She soon finds that she is too exhausted from all of her activities, and drops all but two so she can focus on her studies, social life, and still have activities.  Now  that she has free time she discovers the Boot and becomes enamored with it.  She is constantly begging her friends of Sharp 7 to go to the Boot with her and dance the night away.  When second semester rolls around she and Lilly decides to rush, however, Lilly only gets invited back to one sorority while all of them are fighting over Miley.  This causes a drift in their relationship as they both are changing too much in different ways.  Miley joins a sorority and takes advantage of every opportunity to get involved.  Miley loves Tulane and can’t see herself anywhere else.

Lilly Truscott

Lilly worked hard in high school receiving good grades and becoming involved.  Because of her efforts, she lands herself a wonderful scholarship to Tulane which makes it affordable for her family.  She lives on But 7 and loves her floor: it’s a balanced mix between partying and studying.  She gets a job at the library to help pay for college, and there she is able to read all different types of books.  She’s having a hard time making friends, especially since her best friend from high school is so busy and has such a crazy social life.  Sometimes she thinks about transfering, but she knows Tulane is the right school for her and that she’s just having a hard time adjusting.  She does her Service Learning requirement freshman year and remembers part of the reason why she chose Tulane was for the service.  She gets involved with more service and makes a great group of friends.  She comes to accept that her college journey is going to be different than her best friend’s. and that is OK.  Lilly slowly learns to love Tulane for all that it is.

Jackson Stewart

Jackson came to Tulane much earlier than Miley.  He finally found his niche in college: Quidditch.  Jackson spends all his time on Quidditch, whether it’s practice, tournaments, going to the gym, or coaching.  He’s gone to the World Cup twice and this is his year to finally win it!  Of course, he has other passions too.  He’s majoring in philosophy and can always be found in the classrooms of Newcomb having heated discussions with professors and students.  People also came to appreciate his jokes in college because he’s now apart of an improv group.  It’s even rumored that he writes for the Tulane Vignette.  Jackson rules Tulane in his own way and absolutely loves it.

Oliver Oken

Oliver lives in Patterson and loves the “wellness” dorm.  He has become a vegan, helps take care of the Wall Garden (he also spends a lot of time here), and enjoys doing Yoga on the quad.  He is undecided with what he wants to study, but doesn’t mind if he needs to take five years to graduate because that’s more time at Tulane for him.  He enjoys going to the Fly to hang with friends, throw a football around, or just lie down and enjoy the fresh air.  He has started a club where every Sunday morning, they go to different parks in New Orleans and pick up all of the trash that is left around from the night before.  Oliver has also become a huge advocate for human rights on campus.  If there’s a rally, he’s there.  He’s very involved with Tulane Democrats, even though he identifies more with the Green Party.  Oliver loves Tulane and loves the person he has become at Tulane.

Robby Ray Stewart

Believe it or not, Miley’s father is a Tulane alum!  He loved his time at Tulane and is always calling his kids to ask them about his alma mater.  He lives for parents’ weekend and stays a whole two weeks in the Big Easy.  When he’s back he can be found at happy, tailgating, or watching football games from his seats in Yulman (they sure didn’t have a football stadium when he was there).  He can be found dressed in head to two in Tulane gear and even Tulane cowboy boots (Dad, those are for girls Miley tells him).  He treats his kids to the nicest restaurants in town visiting Commanders Palace, Galatoires, Acme Oyster House, and his favorite Camellia Grille.  When his two weeks are up, tears stream down his face as he has to leave his favorite city and go back west.  Tulane lives in the heart of Robby Ray forever.
