Long are the days when wearing sweatpants was an acceptable way to show up for things. It is time for us young professional adults to steer away from athleisure wear and start to accumulate more sophisticated clothing. We do not have to break the bank by buying professional attire. This guide will talk about various professional outfits that can be created by items that are affordable to buy or already owned. Not only will you look polished for work, but be comfortable in your skin!

  1. Wear all black with jewelry. Black gives off the impression of being put together, and it is very chic. With this, you can get away with wearing black leggings by pairing them with black booties. For the top, put on a black long sleeve which is cheap to get anywhere and most likely in everyone’s closest. Since blazers are an essential staple for professional wear, add a black blazer to the outfit like this one from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/POGT-Sleeve-Blazer-Cardigan-Jacket/dp/B01M7S9QBJ?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1&psc=1. Next, add jewelry and do your hair in a slick bun or have it down. Now you look very expensive and clean, but little does anyone know how much you spent! 2. Wear wide-legged pants with a tee or a polo/ button-down. These pieces are most likely not in your closest, besides the white tee, but fortunately, they are affordable to acquire. Wide-legged pants are the perfect staple because they are comfy and can easily be dressed up like these flared pants from Walmart: https://www.walmart.com/ip/INC-Womens-Plus-Linen-Work-Wear-Wide-Leg-Pants/618637533. Finally, tuck in the top within the pants, add a belt and pair it with pumps. Now, you have a flattering outfit that is appropriate for work and is comfortable. 3. The last look is a dress. There are various ways one can turn items into a dress. Use either an over-size polo/ button-down shirt, blazer, sweater/turtleneck, or jacket and pair it with a belt. Since it is professional, these pieces should be close to knee length. To dress it up even more, wear tights underneath and booties to make it more formal.
