Focus on… Better Photos

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tulane chapter.

So I’m in love with photography. I love the whole idea of it; the moments they capture, the way they allow us to experience things over and over again, the memories they preserve, the emotions they elicit… the list goes on and on.

With the improved technology, nearly everyone has access to at least a basic camera, whether it’s the one on their phone, the point and shoot, or the digital SLR. This easy, on-the- go access to cameras allows us to document everything and enables us to look back on our lives with clarity.

Unfortunately, so few people know what to actually do with their cameras and they wind up with these lackluster pictures that don’t adequately capture the moment they set out to. That’s where I come in. I’ve decided to tackle this problem and give you basic pointers on how to take better pictures in various settings.

I want you to capture those amazing moments and have amazing pictures that reflect them.
