10 Reasons to Come See Etch-A-Sketch Comedy’s Fall Show

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tulane chapter.

You’ve probably heard of the ultra-popular, nationally acclaimed, collectively beautiful group on Tulane’s campus known as Etch-A-Sketch Comedy…but have you heard that they’re having their Fall semester show THIS WEEK, from Thursday (11/13) through Sunday (11/16) in the Lab Theatre at McWilliams Hall?

Etch-A-Sketch is a sketch comedy group (get it?) that has been on Tulane’s campus since fall of 2011, formerly known as ImprovE Comedy.  They made the name change last year, and enjoyed back-to-back sold out shows both semesters. The group is back for their fall semester show, Etch-A-Sketch Comedy Saves the Universe! As if you needed any more motivation to go, here are 10 reasons to come see the show:

1. It’s free.

It’s incredibly free. Zero dollars and no cents. I cannot stress enough how free this show is. Reserve your tickets here to make sure you get a seat!

2. It’s on campus.

Do you have a car? Do you enjoy spending hard-earned money on cabs? Do you thrill at the thought of walking three miles in the cold to get to your old roommate’s friend’s cousin’s house party? Same. That’s why this event is ON-CAMPUS, in the Lab Theatre in McWilliams Hall (between Newcomb and Dixon Hall). Walk there! Bike there! Scooter there!

3. It’s one hour long.

I repeat. One. Hour. Long. This could be your stop between the pre-game and the game, or maybe this is the game itself. Since there are shows at 8pm and 10:30pm on Friday and Saturday, a sixty-minute performance means the world is your oyster. It’s also conveniently located near Broadway and The Boot. (Don’t worry, we’re looking out for you.)

4. Beautiful people.

Look at these faces.

5. Said beautiful people in the same color palette.

Haven’t you ever wondered how 14 people would look in only red, white, black and denim? Haven’t you??

6. These are our generation’s future comedians.

When one, some, or all of Etch-A-Sketch’s members are extraordinarily famous, you can tell people how you first saw him/her/them in your college comedy show. Don’t miss your chance to impress people at dinner parties.

7. It’s free!

Did you know that this event is free? It also has a cool poster. Here it is:

8. It’s funny!

Extensive research by our in-house team of scientists has shown that you will laugh at least 27 times during the show. Trust science.

9.  It’s original.

Etch-A-Sketch writes, directs, and performs completely original material. This means you can steal jokes from the show and make your friends think you’re much funnier and wittier than you actually are.

10. Everybody’s doing it.

Literally all homo sapiens will be at this show. Literally! All of them!

Etch-A-Sketch Comedy Saves the Universe! is playing in the Lab Theatre in McWilliams Hall on November 13 at 8PM, November 14 at 8PM and 10:30PM, November 15 at 8PM and 10:30PM, and November 16 at 8PM. Respond to the Facebook event and be sure to resevre your free tickets to ensure a spot in the theatre.
