Democrats:
Hillary Clinton

Republicans:
Jeb Bush
TheSkimm: “Tough to create a fresh rep when your last name is Bush. But Jeb made a first-name for himself as FL gov. popular with Hispanics.”
Important policy points:
- Wants to secure US borders and create a legalization policy for undocumented workers
- Does not want to restrict rights of gun owners
- Wants to provide support to the Syrian Free Army to combat ISIS
Ben Carson
TheSkimm: “Carson’s running as the political outsider who can bring fresh ideas to DC. And he’s not the only one. Cough, Trump, cough.”

- Staunchly pro-life
- Supports a repeal of Obamacare and wants health savings accounts to be available to everyone
Ted Cruz
TheSkimm: “Cruz has won support from far-right voters for his hard-line positions against Obama’s policies.”
Important policy points:
- Doesn’t believe in climate change
- Supports increased military action against ISIS, such as “carpet bombing”
- Calls for tax reform to improve the economy
John Kasich
TheSkimm: “Kasich was the GOP golden boy in the 90s, but the shine seems to be wearing off. He’s trying to bring it back by being sassy and saying the B-word—budget—a lot.” (Ha! Good one!)
Important policy points:
- Thinks fixing the US budget is the primary way to help the economy
- Believes in climate change, but not coal regulations
- Wants “boots on the ground” in the Middle East
Marco Rubio
TheSkimm: “Rubio’s the one to watch in the GOP. He’s hoping that his young age and Cuban-American roots will win votes from voters who don’t usually pull the lever for the GOP.”
Important policy points:
- Wants to modernize legal immigration
- Would cancel the Iran nuclear agreement
- Wants to create “21st century jobs” to jumpstart the economy
Donald Trump
TheSkimm: “Trump and his hair have hogged all the campaign attention in a huuuuuuge way. While he has the polling numbers to back up his big talk, TBD on how many people will pull the lever for him.”

- Wants to ban all Muslims from entering the US, and build a wall along the US-Mexican Border

- Wants increased aggression against Russia’s President Vladimir Putin
