What are you involved with on campus?

Cancer Outreach, Blackout Step Team, Theta Delta Chi (123), Tufts Club Lacrosse, Relay For Life

Can you talk about your involvement with Cancer Outreach Society?

I knew coming in to college that I wanted to do something cancer outreach oriented having battled leukemia in high school, and I found this really small club that didn’t really have much of a presence. Now that I’m one of the co-presidents we’re really looking forward to turning the club around and doing a lot more on campus.

What are you guys working on right now?

We’re currently delivering candy canes and messages to students on campus during finals week. The proceeds are going towards the Vivien Lim Research Fund; Vivien was actually a Tufts student who passed away this past September. You can imagine that this cause is really personal for us since she was a member of our own community.

Where do you see the club going?

I think the club has a lot of potential going forward. We have a lot of great new members on our exec board that I think are going to do a great job running the group in the future. Our main issue last year was that nobody really knew who we were on campus, but now that we’re starting to gain some attention I think we’re going to be very successful.

Do you have any advice for people involved with new or existing clubs on campus?

Make sure it’s something you’re going to be absolutely dedicated to and passionate about. When you love what you’re doing, it makes things a whole lot easier

Fun fact?

Carly Rae Jepsen once waved at me at a concert. Yes, I went to a Carly Rae Jepsen concert.
