This one is for all the lovely collegiettes that are bio majors! We just love life so much! No, seriously, biology is the study of life and we really love it (some times more than others).
Whether it be molecular, environmental, marine, or just plain old biology that sparks your interest, you all know the struggle of labs, research, and forever wishing you could win a Nobel Prize. So, these are the 5 things you, as bio majors, can totally relate to here at Tufts.
1. You basically live in Barnum.
And you’re shocked when someone asks, “Where is that?” Seriously?! It’s the one with the giant elephant in front of it.
2. You eat everything in sight after your lab.
Because three hours without food (or coffee?!) should be illegal. You’ve also probably broken the world record for the fastest speed-walk to Dewick or Carm.
3. You’re so used to writing lab reports that writing papers for humanities classes is a struggle.
“What do you mean I can’t put figures in my history paper?” “Where does the data go?” “Wait, there’s no data?”
4. Working out turns into a mini-review session about cellular respiration.
You think, “WOW, I’m using so much ATP.” And when your legs start to burn, you know it’s lactic acid fermentation.
5. You’re so sick of everyone asking, “Are you pre-med?”
We’re not all pre-med! There are so many different career paths for bio majors other than medicine.
