Spring Break Packing Essentials

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Trinity chapter.

With spring break just around the corner, it’s important to make sure you’ll have everything you need for your travels!  If you’re going on a tropical vacation, here’s a list of all those little things you might forget, but will certainly come in handy!

A sweatshirt and sweatpants: Although bundling up should be the furthest thing from your bronzing brain, it’s always nice to have comfy, warm clothes to slip into after a long day of sunbathing.

An LBD: Just like in life, you can never go wrong with a little black dress on spring break.  This article of clothing can make the perfect transition from beach to bar and won’t take up too much room in your suitcase!

Portable ipod speakers: If you have them, these speakers will certainly come in handy on the beach, at your friend’s vacation house, or in your hotel room!

A deck of cards
: Whether your flight’s delayed in the airport or you have some time to kill before going out, a deck of cards is small enough to fit in your carry-on and a great way to pregame and/or pass the time.

Beach jewelry: I am obsessed with jewelry.  Sometimes I wear all black just so I can make a statement with some bobbles.  So obviously I’m a fan of the new beach jewelry trend that’s sweeping celebrity’s vacations.  Big earrings and long necklaces are a must with your bikini this spring break.

Disposable Camera: Not only do they sell awesome underwater disposable cameras now, you don’t have to worry about losing an expensive camera while traveling, and making mystery memories is always the most fun!

Your favorite baseball hat: The spring break cowboy hat look has been overdone thanks to MTV, but a hat is still a great way to protect yourself from the sun while still looking good.  Make sure your representing your favorite sports team wherever you are—a great conversation starter for bros on the beach!

One workout outfit
: That you probably won’t use.  But if for some strange reason you feel compelled to exercise you’ll have the option.

Nail Polish: For those chipping catastrophes

A versatile bag: We all have one shoved into the back of our closet—that bag that you’re not quite sure when to use.  It will definitely come in handy to drag everything to the beach, or if you and your girls decide you want to go shopping!
