Trinity Rush 2014

What’s different?
Trinity rush has seen some different but exciting changes this fall! To start, Tim Dunn has been names Trinity’s new director of Greek life. Dunn’s goal as director is act as a bridge between the administration and the students involved in Greek organizations. He ultimately aims to make sure that Trinity students are able to fully enjoy the benefits of Greek life.

Girls in frats?
Last year there was a push to make all the Greek organizations co-ed. Obviously, this was not followed through, however some changes were seen during rush this fall. For example, the first two days of Rush girls and guys were split into groups of 10 and were required to attend every organization on campus, regardless of if it was a fraternity or sorority. The point was not to try and force organizations into becoming co-ed, but to introduce all perspective Greek students to each other and gain a sense of community.

What was the typical rush outfit?
Girls typically wore semi-formal to formal dresses. Many girls wore dresses that hung just above the knee, pairing it with a necklace or bracelet when appropriate. Jack Rogers and other flats were just a few of the popular shoe choices during rush this semester. While some girls wore wedges, it was not overwhelming.

Boys either dressed in a button down and sport coat or wore a nice polo. A few boys had on t-shirts during the first two nights, but as the week progressed and the attire requirements shifted, the boys transitioned into more formalwear.

As a whole, it was and will continue to be expected that both boys and girls put their best foot forward during the process, showing the fraternities and sororities on campus that they really care about the organizations in which they hope to participate.
