Twerking vs. Cooking: Which One Keeps Your Guy?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Towson chapter.

Twerking has become the most glamorized technique a girl can master nowadays in American society. To call “twerking” a technique seems ludicrous, but this is what it has become as shown on television, social networks; even perpetuated in popular music. Twerking is a trend in pop culture. Girls of all ages and races are in love with the idea of twerking. I’ll admit I believe I can twerk myself, but what exactly does twerking get us? Yes, it reels the male species in when you tear it up on the dance floor, but what exact reason does he have to stay with you? Being a phenomenal dancer isn’t the best reason for him to keep in touch with you. You’ve got to show that you’re worth more. Being a professional at the twerking trend is not going to keep your guy for long. Though it is a cliché saying, the way to your man’s heart truly is through his stomach! If you don’t know how to cook, the chances of your interest sticking with you is slim. Your personality must overshadow your inability to cook by at least 110% — trust me I know from experience. However, learning how to cook is fun and easy.  Also, with YouTube being accessible to everybody, cooking is made a little bit easier. Holding onto your man is easy if you look up cooking videos instead of twerking videos. Ladies, learn to cook! Both techniques are essential to keeping him by your side. Of course when you mix love, affection and trust in the pot everything meshes together and makes a happy couple.
