Five Last Minute Spring Break Options

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Towson chapter.

Don’t have anything planned for Spring Break yet? Don’t worry! There are plenty of last minute options. Although they may not all include fun in the sun on a beautiful beach, there is still fun to be had all over the country.

Go on a Roadtrip- grab some of your friends that aren’t hitting an island or heading home and plan a road trip. If you want to save money, be sure to pick the smallest, most practical car for gas and pack some coolers.  If you want to be really spontaneous, pick a certain part of a map, and throw a dart at it and go to wherever the dart lands. Make sure to do research for where you are headed so that you can eat at some dive restaurants and get the best deals on hotels!

Use Megabus- Megabus is a great, cheap way to get around to cool places you may have never been. If you leave from Baltimore, you can travel to places like Boston, Philadelphia, New York City, etc. If you leave from Washington, D.C., the options are much more exciting. These buses offer rides to destinations like Charlotte, NC for a beach lover, Nashville, TN for the country girls, and even Dallas, TX for someone up for an adventure. All of these are also pretty affordable.

Book a Room at a Ski Resort- Even if you don’t like skiing or snowboarding, tubing is always a fun alternative. Grab a few friends, pack into a room, and head on up to Liberty Ski Resort in Fairfield, PA. Even if you don’t like the outdoors, hang out at one of the restaurants, grab a drink, and enjoy the view of the water. Plus, who doesn’t like a complimentary breakfast

Head to Atlantic City- Whether you are of legal drinking age or not, Atlantic City has something for everyone. Both affordable (if you can settle for not being a diva) and convenient to travel to, Atlantic City is sometimes considered the “mini Vegas of the East Coast”. Gather a few of your girls and find a cute dress and heels. For those that are 21+, Revel is a beautiful new resort that has luxurious, affordable rooms and a few amazing clubs. If you’re not of age, don’t worry! Atlantic City has awesome shopping, restaurants, and plenty of concerts and comedy shows. Get dressed up, take pictures, and still have fun.

Find cheap flights- Surprisingly, if you do some searching, you can find decently cheap deals on flights around the country. Websites such as Cheapoair or Expedia make it easy to plan an affordable trip.
