Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) is a huge downtown campus with so much to offer. In such a crowded downtown school, hidden gems can be found everywhere! Check out these underrated study spots all around campus that are accessible to all TMU students.

1. 8th-Floor Library Building: 350 Victoria Street

A hidden gem for sure! Definitely, a place to check out after the incredible renovations during COVID-19. These study spots have individual couch study tables that maximize productivity and privacy for ultimate study success. There are also many bookable study rooms with TVs equipped to project your lecture slides.

2. Student Learning Centre (SLC) 4th floor: 341 Yonge Street

Certainly the most underrated of the study floors at the SLC. This entirely painted green floor has much to offer at a smaller capacity compared to the rest of the building. The SLC 4th floor has multiple couches, which makes it perfect for group study sessions or comfy individual work too!

3. School of Graphic Communications: 125 Bond Street

You’ve likely walked right by the building multiple times! Located right in between Balzac’s Coffee Shop and Oakham Cafe on Bond Street. This building is open to all students and has a lot of individual study spots for students that are facing the windows.

4.   Podium Building: 350 O’Keefe Lane

Definitely a well-known area for lectures and passing by to-and-from classes, this hidden gem has so much to offer with big windows and various small areas to study. If you’re looking for a bright space with a buzzing atmosphere, stick closer to the cafeteria. Otherwise, the third-floor study spots are the best to keep to a minimal talking area.

5.   TMU Law Library: 350 Victoria Street

This is the newest and coolest edition of TMU’s study facilities. With the opening of the new Law School, the university has also added a state-of-the-art Law Library which is open to all TMU students. An incredible space with open windows and a quiet atmosphere to make the most out of your study session.

So check out these campus study spots this year!
