5 Fun Activities To Do With Your Friends This Spring in Toronto

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Toronto MU chapter.

The spring season has officially begun! Spring is the perfect time to enjoy nature without all the humidity summer brings and the freezing temperatures of winter. The days are getting longer, school is wrapping up and nice weather is fast approaching.

Sometimes it can seem like spring has nothing but rain to offer. But there are a lot of fun things to do around the city, especially with friends. Below are five fun activities you can do with your friends this spring!

Blue Jays Game

Although most people think of baseball as a summer sport, it actually starts in March. Spring is a great time to go as it’s not super hot, and there are fewer people. Even if you’re not the biggest baseball fan, going with friends will make for an exciting and memorable time. The Jays have many special giveaways and themed nights for even more fun. Plus, on Tuesdays, they offer hotdogs for $1 each!

Visit The Cherry Blossoms

The beautiful thing about spring is that flowers and trees start to bud and bloom again. Seeing the High Park cherry blossoms with friends is always a spring highlight. The park, located near Bloor West Village, has a nice trail of trees that typically bloom in late April or early May. You can even make a day of it by having brunch in the park at the Grenadier Cafe, visiting the zoo or taking a ride on their trackless train. And don’t forget your camera for Insta-worthy photos!

Go On A Bike Ride

The start of spring means it’s time to dust off your bikes, sand off the rust and go on a nice bike ride. Biking with friends makes for great exercise and is a lovely way to enjoy nature and the warm temperatures. You and your friends can try biking some of the trails near the lake or even along the Humber River. Whether you’re biking to get some ice cream, running an errand or making your way to a friend’s house, biking is healthy and fun. Just don’t forget to wear your helmets!

Afternoon Tea

While being outside in the springtime is lovely, sometimes it can be chilly or rainy. Afternoon tea is the perfect option for days when you want to hang out inside. Gather your closest friends, dress nicely and head to afternoon tea. My favourite place for tea is Old Mill due to its lovely location and aesthetic ambience. It can be a little bit of a splurge, but it’s differently worth it!

Have A Picnic

I wasn’t always a fan of picnics, but recently I have come to enjoy them. It’s a great way to relax and enjoy the company of your friends. Picnics are easy to plan and can be done anywhere that there is grass. Being by the lake is a bonus. Make sure you pack lots of blankets, sandwiches, fruits and sweets. You can bring cards or board games for even more fun.

Even though you may be busy wrapping up school, these activities should provide you with something fun to look forward to. Spring is the perfect time to enjoy nature while having fun with your friends!
