Your First Look: Taylor Swift’s Brand New Music Video for ‘Style’

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Temple chapter.

I am not writing this under any false pretenses. I am a Taylor Swift fan meaning I own every CD, know every lyric to every song and am paying way too much money to see her in concert this summer. I even had a dream about her last night in which I met her (I know, I was freaking out too). Today is Friday the 13th, but better known as the “Style” music video release date. It’s practically a holiday.

On the way to my internship I saw via Cosmopolitan on Facebook that the video was out, this was followed by a text from by best friend and fellow Swiftie to hurry up and watch the video. I debated viewing the video in haste on my phone while waiting for the subway, but I decided against it. I would be patient and view this properly.

So here I am sitting in my cubicle with “Style” queued up on YouTube. Are you excited? I’m excited. Check it out below.

Woah. That was beautiful. That was whimsical, ethereal and so Taylor, 1989 era Taylor that is. The video is pretty much how you feel listening to “Style,” one of Taylor’s better songs on her 1989 album.

Okay… highlights:

  1. Taylor is blowing in the wind.
  2. Taylor’s beautiful love interest is rocking some serious abs.
  3. Did I see an impending sex scene there?
  4. There is lots of glass and lots of reflections.

Well, Taylor Swift has done it once again and just made her sexiest music video ever, which makes sense considering her muse was the gorgeous Harry Styles.

May this day go down in history.
