Welcome Week 2011: The Year of the ‘Bang’

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Temple chapter.

After a few m
onths of a long-needed and to some short-lived summer break, the fall semester is in full swing as classes have already begun.

With a fun-filled Welcome Week ushering in the semester, which included events such as Temple Fest; a festival where students can get all the information they need about student organizations and more and a 100 Foot Banana Split, Welcome Week 2011 could be best described as the Year of the ‘Bang“–Chiddy Bang that is-as the festivities were capped off by a concert led by the dynamic duo.

Though the concert was postponed until Sunday due to Hurricane Irene, Irene coul
dn’t stop the fun as students filled the Liacouras Center to jam to the ecletic and upbeat sounds from Chiddy Bang’s recent mixtape “Peanut Butter and Swelly” and more.

Opening up for Chiddy Bang was Temple’s very own B-Eazy and Chocolate Milk.  Hip-hop sensation B-Eazy rocked the stage with his smooth anthems while the infamous
Chocolate Milk, led by lyrical-wiz David Patrick, was a definite crowd-pleaser with their bold melodies and tight beats.

Although Welcome Week is over, the fun does not stop there!

Be sure to be on the look out for the amazing things that Her Campus Temple has in store!
