Over the years, my skincare routine has changed tremendously and I’m constantly learning about what products are good and not good for my skin.
I didn’t realize how some popular skincare products that we all know are actually so harmful to your skin. They contain toxic ingredients including parabens, formaldehyde, triclosan, phthalates, and other harsh ingredients.
Not every company holds ethical standards regarding sustainability and animal testing either. Fortunately, I have found products that do my skin wonders and have ethical standards and I am here to share them all with you!
I actually discovered this toner through TikTok over the summer and I am so happy that I did because I have noticed a huge difference.
To apply, all you need is to apply a little bit to your hands and work the toner into your face and neck. The toner hydrates and tightens pores all at once leaving me with smooth skin. I also love the pink glass bottle it comes in!
The only mistake I made with this serum was not getting the bigger size! I discovered this serum over the summer along with the Glow Recipe toner.
This lightweight serum has niacinamide and hyaluronic acid which help even out my skin tone, reduce hyperpigmentation or dark spots, brighten dullness, and support my skin barrier.
There are multiple ways you can use this serum. If you want to use it as a skin brightener, you apply one pump before you apply your moisturizer. If you want to use it as a primer, apply one or two pumps as the last step of your skincare routine before makeup.
For your eyes, apply a pea-sized amount to the center of your eyelid and blend out.
Lastly, you can use it as a double highlight where you pat a drop on the parts of your face you want highlighted and then apply a powder highlighter on top. I started seeing results within two weeks and I started to get compliments on how my skin looked!
This Glow Recipe product also comes in a super cute and sleek pink glass bottle.
Another one of my favorite serums that I have been using for a few years is this product from Rodan + Fields. To apply, you put a few drops on your face and then work into your skin, and that’s it! This is the only serum I use at night, and it makes my skin feel and look amazing when I wake up the next morning. My skin is left feeling balanced and my pores are tightened.
This moisturizer contains vitamin C and 11% Glowphoria Complex, which is designed to support the look of healthy, dewy glowing skin. I use this moisturizer in the morning and at night, I like how the moisturizer feels super lightweight on my skin.
Some of the key ingredients include grape juice, which provides toning effects, pumpkin, which is made up of alpha hydroxy acids, and niacinamide, which brightens the appearance of aging and helps improve skin texture.
- Sephora Brightening Eye Cream ($18.00)
I started using this eye cream over the summer and I noticed how it makes my under eyes look less dark and it is a lot cheaper than other eye creams.
To apply, all you need is a pea-sized amount of moisturizer under your eyes and I personally like to put a little on the center of my eyelids as well. You’ll want to apply twice a day in the morning and at night.
The cream is unscented and brightens your eyes with caffeine and hyaluronic acid. I’ve noticed how my dark circles and puffiness have been visibly reduced as I continue to use this product.
- Supergoop! Glowscreen SPF 40 ($22 – $38)
I bought this product over the summer, and I am in love with it!
I have the glowscreen in the shade “Golden Hour,” the product comes in three other shades like the regular unseen sunscreen, Dawn, and Sunset. To apply, I usually put a few drops around my face and work it into my skin.
My favorite part about the glow screen is how it’s a hydrating sunscreen with SPF 40 that leaves my skin with a luminous glow. The product contains different ingredients like hyaluronic acid and Vitamin B5, sea lavender, and cocoa peptides.
I swear by these products, and I have seen nothing but great results with my skin. It’s important to always look at the ingredients of the skincare products that you choose to purchase and to do research on the company. Keep in mind that everyone’s skin is different, so choose products that are specifically needed for your skin but always remember to wear SPF!
