Simple Items to Change Your Summer Closet To Fall

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Temple chapter.

It is not hard to tell that the summer has come to an abrupt end, unfortunately. We all have those summer tank tops or skirts that make us feel a whole new level of confidence. Fortunately, we don’t have to completely pack them up for the season change just yet. With a few new articles of clothing, you will be able to maximize your closet without compromising your style.

outfits, and I am here to show you the way. To start, I feel all girls need a staple flannel. Whether it be the classic red, lumberjack look, or the classy white and grey look for a girly style, they can transform your favorite lacey tank into a fabulous fall outfit. Next, any classic sweaters are a must-have! I have bought a plethora of sweaters already, whether it be a cropped neutral to an oversized pop of color sweater. While talking about sweaters, I think that every girl should have an oversized and cropped cardigan to pull any look together while still staying warm. I have been very into the look of a cropped summer tank with a chunky cardigan to give me the warmth I need without compromising my look. During the summer, I loved a tennis skirt moment, and I am still able to rock my favorite skirts with a sweater and a pair of ankle boots. On the topic of boots, a cute pair of black, casual ankle boots are essential to pair with any outfit to give it a fall feel. I have been pairing my boots with my favorite summer pieces and still feel comfortable with the dropping in temperatures. Pair the boots with a chunky sock for the extra added fall touch. Any jacket, whether it is denim, leather, or fur, is an excellent piece for the unpredictable weather. Mostly any pieces that are great for layering, such as a staple jacket, are fantastic for the season! Finally, a staple in everyone’s closet recently is a stylish pair of joggers. This is such a great piece due to the versatility for warm or cold weather and dressing up or down. You could go for a model off duty jogger look while still being comfortable with the changing weather patterns.

These different forms of layering pieces are great for all seasons, but with the unpredictability of the weather recently, they are more important than ever! Dressing warm and comfortable should not be taking away from your personal style and the pieces that make you feel the most confident in your skin, so these pieces are tailored in a way to help keep the integrity of your favorite items in your closet. Just because it is cold doesn’t mean you have to hide all that you love!

Here are some of my favorite fall pieces:
