February 24th is National Tortilla Chip Day and what better way to celebrate than by trying out some new recipes? Tortilla chips make a great snack on their own, but if you want to make something new and delicious from the comfort of your own dorm, here are a few dip and nacho recipes that you can make with just a microwave!

1. Cheese Nachos

These are definitely the easiest nachos to make, but trust me, they make the most delicious snack! All you need is a microwave safe plate, a handful (or two) of tortilla chips, and some shredded cheese on top. But don’t just use any cheese, try some Nacho and Taco cheese from Sargento for the perfect flavorful nachos. Microwave for about 1 minute, then dip into some salsa or guacamole and enjoy!

2. Taco in a Bag

It may sound odd, but yes you can actually make tacos in a bag! All you need is a snack bag of Nacho Doritos, some shredded Mexican cheese, lettuce, salsa and any other taco toppings you like! Cut the bag of chips open and mix in your toppings, and eat directly from the bag.

If you have some taco sauce with seasoned ground beef, you can easily add that (with just a microwave) by following this recipe!

3. Chili Cheese Dip

This recipe serves 8 and only requires two ingredients, which makes it the perfect snack while hanging out with friends! All you need is one 15-ounce can of Hormel Chili No Beans and a 1-pound package pasteurized prepared cheese product, cut into 1/2-inch cubes. Mix the chili and cheese, cover the bowl and put it in the microwave for about 5 minutes, and enjoy! (Full directions and recipe here)

4. Guacamole

Who knew that making your own guacamole could be fun and so easy! There are many guacamole recipes out there that don’t require anything but ingredients, a knife and a bowl. For this recipe, you need 1/4 cup chopped onion, 1 to 3 chopped serrano chiles, 3/4 cup torn cilantro and a big pinch salt on a cutting board. Chop the ingredients, then mash into a paste and put them into a bowl. Add 3 diced avocados and mash with a wooden spoon, stir in 1 medium diced tomato and season with salt and voila!
