There’s more to this week’s campus cutie Jessica Ross than meets the eye – like the fact that she grew up on a farm! This Pennsylvania native is full of fun stories, guaranteed to make you smile. If you’re a city slicker, suburbanite, or a fellow farm kid, you’ll definitely enjoy getting to know Jess.
Name: Jessica Ross
Nicknames: JR, J.Ross
Hometown: Northumberland, PA
Major: Nursing
Year: Junior
Hobbies: soccer, riding my horses, hanging out at the zoo with my lovely zoo-mates (my house, not actually a petting zoo.)
Favorite musician: Jason Aldean
Fun fact: My house is haunted
Tell us what it was like growing up on a farm: I wouldn’t ever trade it. Not everyone would enjoy going out late night to clean horse stalls, waking up early to feed them, or going on a leisurely ride when bored..but I love it. I never had to like grow my own food or hand wash my clothes..it’s not that kind of farm. But I was rarely sitting around doing nothing, there was always something to do outside.
Do you prefer the city or the country?: Country, but the city nightlife
Why did you choose TCNJ?: I wanted to venture away from home, but not too far
Favorite TCNJ memory: Going to Arizona with my club soccer team for Nationals. We lost in the sweet 16, but that didn’t keep us from celebrating our loss with a hotel full of men’s club soccer teams who were there from all over the country.
Best advice you’ve ever been given: Don’t get caught dead in a Chevy Malibu
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?: Australia
Pet Peeves: Being waken from my sleep
