Black Friday is the biggest shopping day of the year, so it’s the perfect time to stock up on holiday gifts for your friends and loved ones. While the Black Friday experience can get pretty crazy, some of my best Thanksgiving memories involve getting up early with my friends to fight the crowds and snag some great deals. It’s definitely something you should experience at least once in a lifetime! For those of you who are newbies, here are some helpful tips:

  1. Check out all of the ads! Stores start releasing advertisements with their Black Friday deals now. Go through your local newspaper, check out these ads, and make a list of what you want to get from all your favorite stores.

  2. Do some online research. Check out which of your favorite chain stores have online previews or special coupon codes for Black Friday online. One site, blackfriday.com, lists ads and coupon codes for a bunch of chain stores, which can help you to decide where you want to go.

  3. Ask around. Often times local boutiques and shops have their own Black Friday specials. Find out if your favorite stores in town have any good deals for Black Friday- in my personal experience, some of these deals are better than what you can get at chain stores.

  4. Make a plan. Plan out your morning now, so that you know exactly what stores you’re going to and at what time. This way you can ensure that you’ll be able to get to everywhere you want to go!

  5. Start saving now! There’s nothing worse than having to put back an amazing deal simply because you don’t have enough money to buy it. Start saving now so you can make the most of the Black Friday deals and stock up.

With some preparation, not only can you buy some amazing gifts on a collegiette’s budget, but you can also make some hilarious memories with family and friends as you navigate the crazy malls. Happy shopping, collegiettes!
