I love music. I have always loved music. With this love comes a passion for making playlists for every moment in my life: from my first semester of college to throwbacks to listen to with friends, I have a playlist for it all. And, this summer, I have finally found the vibe that fits energy in the air: 90s rock.

For me, 90s rock brings to mind bands like The Cranberries, Matchbox Twenty, and CAKE. So, as I listened to these go-to artists, I started coming across more and more bops that somehow slipped my mind. In honor of forgetting these amazing songs, here are a few of the 90s rock songs shaping my summer this year.

1. “Loser” by Beck
2. “Fly” by Sugar Ray
3. “What I got” by Sublime
4. “My Own Worst Enemy” by Lit
5. “Alright” by Supergrass
6. “Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls
7. “Wonderwall” by Oasis
8. “Two Princes” by Spin Doctors
9. “Mr. Jones” by Counting Crows
10. “Closing Time” by Semisonic

Some other similar bands I’ve been listening to include 4 Non Blondes, Weezer, and No Doubt–all tasteful groups. So, if you’re looking for season-defining sounds to kick off this summer, I highly recommend adding these to your list. Summer 2022 is the season of 90s rock for me, and it can be yours too.
