i love you

still, despite, although i should not.

i miss the way you checked on me,

the way you smelled,

and the way your friendship felt.

but since i can’t reach out,

since i can’t love you on purpose,

i guess i’ll love you on accident.

i guess i’ll love you quietly.

i’ll pull up the threads of the world

and weave them once more

just so our paths cross again.

a fateful coincidence.

i can’t ask to see you.

i shouldn’t want to, and you won’t ask.

so i’ll see you at the store

and look at you.

my eyes may linger a moment too long.

i pray you won’t notice;

it’s doubtful you will.

and quietly, i’ll love you again.

I currently sing for a band, and my favorite form of writing is poetry. I'm a huge fan of pumpkin spice lattes, and I love the fall. I'm also really passionate about women's issues.
