An Open Letter To Summer

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at TAMU chapter.

Dear Summer,

Wow. It’s been awhile, my friend. I just wanted to say that I have truly missed you. There were days when I never thought I would see you again. But yet, here you are.

I will admit, that I almost gave up on the idea of us being together. I thought, ‘you’re so far away. Maybe we aren’t meant to be.’ But no matter how I hard I tried to keep you as a distant memory and try to focus on the present, I could never forget about you.

There were signs of you everywhere. When I saw someone wearing a yellow shirt, I thought of the bright rays you emit. Even a glass of water would remind me of my time at the beach with you, hot hot summer.

You are so hot, Summer. Sometimes, I didn’t think I could handle how hot you were. You can be unbearably hot.

But I love you. There, I said it. I LOVE YOU!

Not a day has gone by that I haven’t thought of you or imagined your warmth upon my cheek. My skin glows when it is Summer-time. You make me so happy, Summer.

Summer loving happens so fast. But although our time together may seem short and even fleeting, just know you are cherished. And I will honor our time together.

Yours truly,
