Is the Longchamp Le Pliage Worth the Hype?

The Her Campus National Editors write about products we love and think you’ll love too. Her Campus has affiliate partnerships, so we get a share of the revenue from your purchase. All products are in stock and all prices are accurate as of publication.

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at TAMU chapter.

The Longchamp Le Pliage tote bag has taken social media by storm this past year, and for good reason. You may have seen the iconic tote bag on the arm of every influencer and college student this past season. The Longchamp Le Pliage is the perfect bag for work/university because it is good quality, extremely practical, and is a relatively affordable price. I have the size medium in the tan and black colorway and I can confidently say it is 100% one of my best purchases. The Le Pliage is my second purchase from Longchamp and I am in love. In less than twelve sentences, I’m going to tell you why I’m obsessed with my Le Pliage and why it’s a worthy investment.

An amazing feature that makes the Le Pliage a great bag is because of its quality and durability due to the nylon fabric. Nylon is waterproof making the bag spill resistant, rain resistant, and easy to clean. Since the fabric isn’t typical cloth, it’s difficult to stain and rip which makes the bag a long term investment.

Another reason why the Le Pliage is amazing for working/studying women is due to its practicality and design. Many tote bags don’t have zippers making them extremely impractical. On the other hand, the Le Pliage has a full zipper and even contains compartments for keys or a wallet. Due to the lightweight fabric and design, it’s an extremely spacious bag that can fit all your needs without getting heavy and causing excessive shoulder pain (one downside is that since there isn’t a crossbody strap, there is potential for the bag to get very heavy if completely full.) If you need extra organization, felt dividers on Amazon are under 20 dollars and are perfect to add structure and more compartments to your bag.

An amazing quality about the Le Pliage collection is the wide range of fun colors that the bag comes in. They have a variety of colors from a shocking lime green to a casual navy blue.

Even though it is still a sum of money, the Le Pliage is at a relatively affordable price for a luxury brand. Designer tote bags on the market range upwards from 1000 dollars while the Le Pliage costs 150. Longchamp is a respected French designer brand, making the Le Pliage a stylish but affordable option for women who want a simple but globally recognized bag.

I fully recommend the Le Pliage to anyone who is interested in owning their first Longchamp or is looking to buy a fashionable, convenient new bag.
