I am an aggie so this report of the game is skewed to favor my college.  Go Texas A&M!  Whoop!

The first game of the football season was this Saturday, September 2.  The Texas A&M Aggies played against the New Mexico Lobos.  The game was a brutal defeat for New Mexico, as they lost 10 to 52.

The first quarter was filled with cheers from aggies, regardless of the heat.  Luckily for the sunbaked aggies, their team successfully scored a touchdown, earning 6 points.  The additional field goal totalled it to 7 points.  The stands, at least those filled with aggies, roared with excitement for their win.

The Lobos tried their hardest, but it just wasn’t enough for them to be able to beat the hell out of Texas A&M.  No, that right was reserved for the Texas A&M Aggies.  And while the Lobos did score, they only did so in the second half.  And their 7 points paled in comparison to the 28 points the Texas A&M Aggies earned.

The third quarter added a few points, 3, to the Lobos’ tally.  But Texas A&M made that feel minimal with the touchdown.

And the last quarter was just the icing on the cake for Texas A&M as they secured their inevitable win with an additional ten points.

When the ref called the game, the aggies cheered and cheered, forever proud of the victory.  And now with a win tallied, all aggies look onto the season with hopeful excitement.

The next game will be an away game on September 9 against the Miami Hurricanes.

Howdy! I’m Gabriela Gomez, an avid reader who is interested in all areas of publishing and writing. And reading of course! I’m the Editor-in-Chief; I currently oversee all the publishing of articles for the Her Campus at TAMU chapter. I am overjoyed to read all the members’ articles and make any corrections that will help to elevate the article. I have been with Her Campus at TAMU since my freshman year. The first year I was a general member on the Writing and Editing committee. During that first year, I wrote a total of 23 articles and was always finding new ways to help. For my second year, I worked as the Senior Editor, publishing more than 80 articles and writing 38 articles. Now in my second semester of junior year, I have implemented a new pitch process for better organization and cleanest, I have already published more than 170 articles, and I have written 16 articles and will continue writing more! Besides working as the Editor-in-Chief, I am a dedicated student at Texas A&M studying Biomedical Sciences. I am also obtaining a minor in both English and Spanish. While not studying diligently, I work in a research lab grinding away, trying to get my name on some research papers (fingers crossed). In my free time, I read, obviously. I am also on the hunt for the best latte to ever bless this earth and love a good game of chess!
