Best Places to Study for Finals Season in College Station

Finals season is unfortunately upon us. If you are wondering where is the best place to ease the pain of studying, even slightly, then here are some Aggies’ favorite study spots on and off campus.

  1. The 4th floor of the annex: The 4th floor of the annex has been a popular spot for some time amongst students, however, until recently, there was very limited seating outside of the classroom spaces. However, the libraries have recently added new furniture to optimize their spaces for studying. Part of this upgrade includes more outlets so students can prolong their study hours. You can also remain caffeinated with the one elevator ride journey down to the Evans Library Starbucks.
  2. Aggie Park: If you are wanting more fresh air while you’re being productive, Aggie Park has become very popular since its opening a year ago. You can relax in a hammock or take advantage of one of the many picnic tables spread throughout the park.
  3. Polite Coffee: Polite Coffee has recently become my go-to spot for an off campus study location. There are plenty of tables and outlets and the coffee is incredible. My roommate and I spend countless hours there on the weekends to get a change of scenery from the campus buildings. They also have plenty of pastries and other things to snack on to satiate you and prolong the study hours. A final perk is their new, extended, hours being open to 7:00 p.m.  A big change from closing at 3:00 p.m.
  4. Koala Cafe: Koala Cafe is for people who prefer boba to coffee. I was surprised by the amount of seating, expecting it to be very minimal. What really sets this place apart is their amazon pastries that perfectly pair with their boba drinks. The atmosphere is very relaxed and never gets loud enough for you to be unfocused.
  5. Architecture Building: The architecture building, I think, is a hidden gem on campus. There is plenty of seating on the first and second floors and is very close to Azimuth Cafe. There is also a piano located in the building, so people can play very serene music as you study.
