Top 5 Spring Break Movies

Are you upset because you are the only one who isn’t going away for a fun spring break trip? Live your life vicariously through these 5 movies.

1. Spring Breakdown

Not only is this movie filled with stars like Amy Poehler and Jane Lynch, but it’s absolutely hilarious. Centering on a group of middle aged friends tasked with protecting the governor’s daughter while on spring break, they run into hijinks.

2. Spring Breakers

There is no denying that this is a bad movie, but it is enjoyably bad. This movie features an assortment of ex-Disney channel stars like Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens, cutting loose in a big way on spring break. If nothing else, this movie is a great way to bond with your friends as you laugh at how ridiculous it is.

3. Spring Break Shark Attack

For those of us who indulge in the Syfy monster movie of the week (guilty), Spring Break Shark Attack is a must watch. It has all of the cheesy horror movie moments that a made-for-TV movie can provide, and is a bloody good time.

4. She’s All That

No this movie is not centered around spring break, but it has some scenes with spring break in it, so it counts! Any excuse to see THE Freddy Prince Jr. The late 90’s teen movie again in all of its glory!

5. 22 Jump Street

There are no words necessary for the second installment of the 21 Jump Street franchise. The power team of Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum had me laughing until it hurt in the theater. The duo move into college, and eventually end up partying it up at a spring break that ends in a bang!

So, dust off the old Netflix account and set up your own movie marathon! Whether you watch these movies or find your own, just remember to have fun!

My name is Leann Petschonek, and I am a Junior here at the University of Tampa studying Biology. I was originally born in Michigan, but moved to Florida when I was five, and loved the Sunshine State ever since (even though I am, Ironically, very VERY pale). I tend to be introverted in person, but I have a large voice on paper. You can usually find me reading a book- or glaring at one as I study, taking some pictures, or watching more television then I probably should.
