Sometimes I just want to cry

For a waterfall

Or a flood

To wash away my pains

Remove the imperfections

To destroy the things that hurt me

To let go

To let go of someone’s hand

To watch them disappear

I just want to scream

To wail

And shout

For the thunderous clouds to rumble

For the lighting to crack

To hear the earth moving

Scraping

Groaning

I want to see fire

To see the light flicker

The smoke to rise up

To see the world all aglow

But not to burn

I want the world to be peaceful

To be green

To see the life around me flourish when all I want to do is wilt

I want to see trees reach up towards the sky

To see flowers bloom

For fields to overgrow the ruble left behind

I want to see life grow after disasters

As a reminder

To know

That life prevails

That destruction doesn’t last forever

That life gets better

That it comes back slowly,

Then all at once

I just want to feel

To feel the sunshine on a cold day

Too feel the cool rain in the sweltering heat

To feel the soft ground on my aching feet

I just want to feel

To feel freely and fully

To not hold back

To be free

I want to feel like a bird flying in the night

Close to the stars

Closer to the future

And to never look back
