When you really think about it, life is such a crazy thing. It is so powerful, yet so fragile at the same time. Sometimes when I am feeling a bit down or stressed out, I try to put things in perspective. We are literally all just microscopic specks floating around in the universe. Crazy, but kind of comforting.

Maybe you have a test in school or a meeting at work to prepare for that is really stressing you out. Maybe you are in a fight with a boyfriend or a best friend that is making you feel a little out of sorts. Maybe you dropped way too much money on dinner last night and are contemplating how you will ever be able to afford anything ever again.

You are most likely lying to yourself if you say you have never experienced at least two out of three of these situations. We’ve all been there. When these types of negative thoughts make their way into our brains, we have to remember to stop for a second, and put everything into perspective.

In a year, none of this is going to matter. No, seriously, it won’t. You will have forgotten all about that test that you took or that meeting that you had prepared for, and that fight that you had with your loved one will have worked itself out. Not to say that you shouldn’t study or prepare, but to stress yourself out beyond comparison is not healthy nor necessary.

We are all so scared of failure, but why? Who is it that we are trying to please anyways? Life is too short to be worrying about what anyone else thinks of us. As long as you are able to love yourself to the best of your ability every single day, that is ALL that matters.

We really do have one shot at this life thing. There is no excuse to not be living it exactly how you want to. Only surround yourself with the people that make you the happiest and constantly channel those positive thoughts. Negativity has no business invading your space. This universe is so big (93 billion light years to be exact), and most of our worries are so small, so don’t spend your time focusing on them. Just remember to take three deep breaths, and put it all in perspective.
