Nostalgic Trends That You Probably Forgot About

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tampa chapter.

The other day I was thinking about some recent trends: Tasman Uggs, Drunk Elephant products, and flare leggings..

And I thought to myself; what are some trends we forgot about? What were the trends from years ago that we all thought were incredibly cool and would stay cool forever?

I hope to bring you all back in time with this list!

Coloring Cracked iPhones w/ Marker

This is one that I never did but always wanted to do. I would see extremely edited pictures online of these phones that looked so cool with markers in the cracks. Did the marker even stay on those phones or just fade off? Regardless, it was cool, and I may need to try it now to heal my inner child.

Mustaches

Remember when you walked into a Target and there were mustaches on literally everything; Shirts, jewelry, candles, comforters, etc. Does anyone know how this even started or why it even started? I mean, it was cute and all, but why mustaches?

3D Glasses

You’re lying to yourself if you say you didn’t pop the lenses out of your 3D glasses and wear them at some point in your life.

Galaxy Print

Remember those Galaxy print leggings that everyone was wearing? Looking back on it, they were incredibly unfortunate, but I thought they were the coolest pants ever. (I’m kind of glad I never owned a pair)

Emoji pillows

Emoji pillows were literally all the craze back then. I honestly still wish I had mine. I had the poop pillow (aka the best one).

Cassidy is currently a senior at the University of Tampa with a major in Communication, Media & Culture, and a minor in Law, Justice & Advocacy. In her free time, Cassidy enjoys watching tv shows and movies. If she’s not binging a television show, she’s most likely binging a book series. Cassidy loves hanging out with her friends, meeting new people, and deep diving (probably a little too far) into celebrity culture and gossip.
