For those of you who aren’t familiar with Big Brother, it is a competition reality show that follows a group of strangers living in a house together. While living in the house, these strangers are cut off from the outside world. They are monitored 24/7 by cameras and microphones all around the house. Each week, the contestants vote someone out of the house. As the weeks (and months) go by, Big Brother adds some twists to throw off the houseguests. These twists can include a double eviction or adding a previously evicted houseguest back into the house.
Big Brother airs three episodes per week, giving viewers more than enough time to get to know the contestants. Due to the competitive nature of Big Brother as well as the 24/7 live camera feeds, there have been many iconic moments in the past. Although I have not seen every season, here are my five favorite moments of all time.
#5 ON MY DAUGHTER’S BIRTHDAY!
Big Brother 20 contestant Brett had just gotten done with making a strategic move- lying to the houseguests and telling them that Rockstar was trying to get another contestant eliminated. In response, Rockstar is completely blindsided and furious. She can’t believe that he would lie about her, especially “ON HER DAUGHTER’S BIRTHDAY!” Watch the clip below.
#4 Josh (and Basically the Entire House) vs. Cody and Jessica
Big Brother houseguest Josh never got along with Cody and Jessica during their season. Cody and Jessica were constantly fighting against the other side of the house and trying to not get eliminated. However, Josh and Paul had other plans for them. Josh was always the one who stirred the pot when it came to strategic game moves, and during the veto ceremony, he had something to say to them. What makes this moment even better is that all of this goes down while Cody and Jessica are dressed as frogs.
#3 Dan’s Funeral
Dan’s funeral was quite possibly one of the best game moves in Big Brother history. Houseguest Dan Gheesling was nominated for eviction, and the other houseguests were pretty set on voting him out. As a last resort, Dan decides to hold his own funeral. The other houseguests assume that this is Dan saying goodbye and parting ways with the others. However, he has a plan in mind. Dan was trying to save himself by emotionally triggering the other houseguests as well as making them believe that he wasn’t aligned with Danielle, one of his best friends at the time. Although his plan seems like it would never work since he was almost guaranteed to go home that night, it eventually did in fact take him off the block.
#2 Literally Any Dr. Will Moment
Not only was Dr. Will an extremely entertaining player, but he was also very good at the game. Some consider him the best Big Brother player of all time. His diary room segments are some of the funniest I’ve ever seen. There are some people in this world that are perfect for making great reality television, and Dr. Will fits perfectly into that category.
#1 Keesha’s Birthday
This moment needs little to no explanation. Jessie and Libra were arguing about something while everyone was waiting to celebrate Keesha’s birthday. When they all decide to sing her happy birthday, the tension in the room mixed with the somber birthday singing is what makes this big brother moment so iconic.
