I am not a baseball player

But I’ve become an expert at curve balls

Dodging and ducking

I am not a baseball player

Yet, I keep stealing bases

Getting closer to a Home Run

I am not a basketball player

But I shoot my shot

Even though I only get bricks

I am not a basketball player

Yet I screen for something good to happen

Hoping for a fast break

I am not a hockey player

But I constantly get tripped

And checked

I am not a hockey player

Yet I want to score

I want a shutout

I am not a football player,

Yet I find myself fumbling

Losing yards

Losing teammates

I find myself in the endzone

All alone

No one there to welcome me

Or cheer me on

I am not a fan

But I cheer

I hope

I stick it out

I am not a coach

But I support

Give advice

Feel responsible for other’s actions

I am not a metaphor

No wait, I am

I’m just a potato

A Basic B*tch

An Aco Taco

I am not my own person

Nor am I unique

I am just an enigma
