Activities I like to Do as a Stressed-Out College Student

During your years at college, you will find yourself overwhelmed, exhausted, and stressed. Many people don’t realize, but you will need a bunch of mental breaks. If you are stuck on what to do, keep reading.

  1. Draw

If you find yourself intrigued, art is a good stress reliever activity. Creating something with time and patience gives off an accomplishing feeling. So, I take a pencil or pen and doodle whenever I need a study break. Location doesn’t matter; pull out a journal, throw on some music, and enjoy your day.

  1. Walk

If I need a breather, I tend to venture on walks. Anywhere with different scenery than the one you are surrounded by will help you feel refreshed. So take a walk around a campus, park, trail, or neighborhood. Throw on some tunes and breathe in the fresh air.

  1. Journal

Journaling your thoughts can help you calm down. Tell a story, explain an event, write a letter; you can journal about whatever you want. Journaling may seem to not be for you, but you can get lost in your thoughts. It is also a great time capsule. So go back, read about your past life, and reflect.

  1. Organize

One of the best ways to get your stress out is to organize. You can rearrange or clean your workspace, bedroom, anywhere to feel organized. It’s a better environment to live in if it is clean. Organizing living spaces can make you feel accomplished as well as relaxed.

  1. Read

Reading is a fantastic way to get lost in a whole different world. Getting involved with a story helps you escape from reality and the stress of college life. Yes, you may be tired of reading from college classes, but you can find yourself entertained if you choose a book that interests you.

6.   Cook

Experimenting in the kitchen can spark some creativity, but don’t blow yourself up. College life can get challenging in the meals department when you don’t have the guardians to cook something up. Instead, try YouTube, TikTok, or websites to find a recipe you’d want to make. Then, give it a try; you may surprise yourself!

There are multiple more activities that a student can do. College is supposed to be one of the best periods of your life, so make the best of it!
