We all know that Taylor Swift is a talented singer and songwriter. Her Eras Tour took over the world, and the media just can’t get enough of it. Now, her relationships are becoming more of a topic. She is in the news more than ever because of her new relationship with Travis Kelce, a football player for the Kansas City Chiefs. Since their relationship is becoming more known and she is attending the games, viewership for the games is higher than ever.

So, a little thing about me: I was born and raised near New Orleans. I come from a pretty big football family. My parents raised my sister and I on football. I remember when the Saints won the Super Bowl and LSU won the national championship. Another thing about me is that I am a big Swiftie. I have been a fan of hers for many years and have always admired her.

I wanted to make a quick and simple guide for all the swifties who have no idea how football works or how it is played.

Now, are you ready for it…

The game is divided into four quarters, each 15 minutes long. This will last a total of 60 minutes in the entire game. After two quarters, there will be a break called halftime. Consider this kind of waiting for the encore at a concert.

Each team attempts to make a touchdown in the endzone unless the other team stops it. When they get the touchdown, they get six points, and they either have a chance to get an extra point with a kicker or two extra points with the same lineup.

Now, there are some key players/positions during the game.

The first one (and the most well-known one) is the quarterback. The quarterback runs the plays, throws the ball, and is usually the main character of the game. Think of him as the Taylor Swift of the football team (sort of).

The next important group is the offensive lineup. Think of them as kind of backup dancers for Taylor on her show. Always there to help her or keep the show going. Another group is the defensive lineup, who are kind of the behind the scenes people at her shows. They are overlooked but always keep the game going or moving when Taylor is off the stage.

One thing that they have in common is that there is always a choreographed or planned play during the game. This can be dancing or even the setlist of her show. Football also incorporates surprise plays like Taylor to keep the other teams/fans guessing.

All NFL teams are playing towards the biggest prize, which is the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl is to football as the Grammys are to music. And how fitting is it that Taylor Swift and her rumored boyfriend have both won the highest honors in their professions?

There are a lot of similarities between a Taylor Swift concert and an NFL football game. There is music, dancing, surprise guests, and cheering fans. They both also sell out huge stadiums, but an NFL team only sells out once a week. Miss Swift can sell out the same stadium five times in one week.
