7 Things to Do For Your Best Summer Yet

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tampa chapter.

College kids are always beyond excited to go home at the end of spring semester. Then, we just wind up sitting around most days doing nothing and want to leave four weeks into the summer. Have fun doing these seven things, and you’re bound to have the best summer yet!

1. Clean out your closet

The best way to start off an amazing summer is to get rid of anything from your past that doesn’t have significance anymore. This goes for your closet as well. Get rid of anything you haven’t worn in years, and you’re off to a great start.

2. Take a road trip to a fast food chain you don’t have in your hometown

If you’re from anywhere like my little New England town of Mystic, CT, you know there’s absolutely nothing around you except the typical McDonald’s and Burger King. Get in the car with some friends, turn on some good music, and make your way to a Chick-Fil-A or Sonic, even if it takes two hours.

3. Go to the beach at night

This is one of those things that you see in the movies that nobody really takes the time to appreciate in real life. There’s nothing more relaxing (or romantic) than a nice trip to the beach at night.

4. Spend more money than you have on new clothes

I realize I already told you to clean out your closet, but there’s nothing better than cleaning out your life than adding new stuff to fill the gap. If you’ve always wanted to change your wardrobe: now’s the chance.

5. Go cliff jumping

Sounds scary, right? I pass out at the thought of heights, but there’s nothing I enjoy more during the summer.

6. Set off some fireworks at a barbeque

Grill up some burgers and enjoy them while you have your own little firework show with friends. Food and fun; the perfect mix

7. Enjoy the firelight

Nobody loves the smell of a campfire more than I do. Crack a cold one, take a seat, and just enjoy some firelight. It makes any boring summer night worthwhile.
