All summer you’ve been promising yourself you would be more involved on campus this fall, so right now is the perfect time to do so! With over 200 different clubs and organizations on UT’s campus, it can be hard to pick which one to join. Here are 10 reasons why you should join Her Campus UT!
1. Her Campus is the #1 global community for college women. Written entirely by the world’s top college journalists – with 4,000+ contributors and counting – HerCampus.com features national Style, Beauty, Health, Love, Life, Career, LGBTQ+ and High School content supplemented by local content from 230+ campus chapters nationwide and in seven countries.
2. You don’t need to be a writing major. We have several members with non-writing majors, such as marketing, accounting, education, psychology, communications, advertising, and criminology.
3. You will instantly have published writing. Having published writing as a college student can be extremely difficult. After only one week of being in Her Campus your dream of having writing published on the Internet will come true.
4. Her Campus opens doors for future jobs or internships. Current Her Campus UT members have written for USA TODAY College, CollegeFashionista, StyleFT, the Morrocan Yearbook, the Minaret, Neon, and have had several other internships.
5. We work hard and play hard. This past year Her Campus UT took part in so many fun events, such as an end of the year banquet, Relay for Life, “Farmed and Dangerous” screening in the Vaughn courtyard catered for free by Chipotle, a walk for Autism awareness, and team bonding activities. Some of the members were lucky enough to attend the Her Campus National Intercollegiette Conference in New York City this past summer, where they met the founders of Her Campus and attended seminars from extremely successful women.
6. You are constantly expressing yourself. Writing is one of the best ways to gather your thoughts and express yourself.
7. We are all like-minded people who are willing to help each other professionally and personally. Peers help edit your work and give constructive criticism, feedback, and a lot of compliments!
8. You will improve your writing skills right off the bat. Most college students cringe when their teacher assigns a writing assignment, however Her Campus will help with this anxiety. After realizing how fun writing can be, those long papers don’t seem so terrifying.
9. Getting to friend request any hot guy and not be considered a creeper, “on behalf of Her Campus.” Always remember interview question number one: are you single and ready to mingle? We love our campus cuties!
10. We are like a little family! Weekly meetings are the best part of our weekends and we have so much fun together. Lots of laughs, memories, and friendships are shared throughout the group.
