10 Places to Visit On and Around the UT Campus
On Campus:
1. The Pool
The outdoor pool on campus is one of the biggest pulls for new students on campus. Make sure to stop by and get some sun, but don’t go in place of class and studying!
2. Plant Park
I can’t say I’ve actually spent time in Plant Park myself, but I heard that a lot of people enjoy going to find a sunny spot to study.
3. The Bookstore
Of course every UT student will find themselves in the bookstore on multiple occasions during the year. They have everything from your textbooks, to school apparel, to chips and candy.
4. Spartan Club
My personal favorite place to eat on campus.. Who doesn’t want to shove their face with Chick-fil-a and Einstein’s Bagels?
5. The Docks
Behind Mckay Hall, you’ll find the Hillsborough River. Not enough people take advantage of the grassy area and dock that are great for tanning when the pool is packed!
Off Campus:
1. Daily Eats
If you love the diner atmosphere and amazing food, you’ll want to hit this restaurant. Make sure the Capatian Crunch french toast!
2. Ybor City
There’s nothing you can’t do in Ybor City! Enjoy restaurants, a movie theater, and small shops. Don’t be too tempted to pop into the tattoo shops all over the streets!
3. International Mall
Who doesn’t love to shop? Hit this mall for the best shopping experience!
4. SoHo
This is where you’ll find most of your bars. The area isn’t great if you’re not 21, but once you make it there, you’ll be spending most of your weekends here!
5. Bayshore
Bayshore is one of the biggest trademarks of the city of Tampa. Go for a run or just enjoy a nice stroll along the beautiful houses! Not to mention Bayshore is home to America’s longest unbroken sidewalk!
