Best Beaches Right Outside of Boston!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Suffolk chapter.

Whether you’ll be spending the summer in the city, or with the beautiful weather we’ve been having, you are ready to hit the beach, you need to know the nicest ones around.  But you don’t have to head all the way to the Cape to find nice beaches, just a bit outside of Boston you can find gorgeous destinations.

Salisbury Beach
Located in Salisbury, MA this beach is also a State Reservation. Though it is an hour outside of the city, this beautiful beach is worth the drive.

Singing Beach
Located in “Manchester by the Sea,” this beach is about 45 minutes north of the city.  Singing beach does have a $25 parking charge, but you will see that is nothing for the wonderful day you will enjoy here. This beach gets its name from the mysterious sound the sand makes under your feet.

Green Harbor Beach
Located in Marshfield MA, this beach is just 40 minutes south of the city. Not only will the beach and the sand dunes draw you in, but if you leave the beach there is still plenty to do in this small town area of Green Harbor.

Duxbury Beach
Just past Green Harbor Beach, Duxbury also is not too far south of the city. There is $15 parking here, but you also have the option to drive your car right onto the beach!

 Wingarsheek Beach
Located in Gloucester, MA, it is about an hour north of the city, but it’s well worth the drive. Wingarsheek beach is known for its calm waters, so it is perfect if you are looking for a relaxing getaway.
