Valentine’s Day, the most romantic day of the year hated by some and loved by others. No matter how you feel about February 14th we’ve got you covered. What’s more enjoyable than cosying up on the couch watching endless movies with your other half? Nothing I know. But what to watch there’s so much choice but luckily we’ve got some recommendations for you to make this Valentine’s Day the best and most relaxing one yet which doesn’t break our student bank accounts.

So here you go our top 5 Valentine’s Day movies, sit back relax enjoy and you can thank us later…

 

  1. The Notebook

Who can resist a soppy love story on Valentine’s Day and also who can resist a bit of Ryan Gosling? The Notebook is a classic romantic film set in the 1940’s which is a guaranteed to get those tears flowing as you watch the struggle of 2 people destined to be together. We love it!

 

  1. Silver Linings Playbook

The Academy Award winning film is an absolute must watch this Valentine’s Day. The romantic story based upon a mental illness and a search for love is unbelievably heart wrenching for us all to watch especially with the one you love.

 

  1. P.S I Love You

If you’ve read the book you’ll understand exactly how much of an emotional rollercoaster this story is you will laugh and cry from start to finish when watching this romance film this Valentine’s Day but who could blame you we all love some Gerard Butler and his amazing Irish accent in this film your bound to love it too!

This film is based upon a love story which a lot of us can relate to…being in a long distance relationship which is exactly what this film represents. Based upon a soldier communicating with his partner through letters our tears flow as each letter is sent and we love how we can all relate on some level being separated from our partner so as you watch this appreciate how much you mean to each other this Valentine’s Day.

Okay, I know every film listed up until now have been deep and meaningful romance films which have the potential to make us all ball like a baby while digging in to those valentines chocolates but if you’re someone who seeks more of a comedy factor this Valentine’s Day then Hitch is for you. Will Smith thinks of himself as the master of relationships in this rom-com helping those who struggle with relationships to become more like him and his ways with the ladies, hilarious and an amazing watch to lighten the mood this Valentine’s Day.
