Our New Writer: Jennifer Myers

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at St Vincent chapter.

Name: Jenny Myers

Year: Freshman

Major: Graphic Design

Hometown: Ellicott City, Maryland

Her Campus (HC): Thanks for interviewing with us today! We are so happy to have you be a part of our Her Campus team! Why did you choose to be a member of Her Campus?

Jennifer Myers (JM): I wanted to be a member of Her Campus because I have been reading Her Campus for a while and have loved the fun, creative, and unique articles. I felt that as a member I can help someone feel better on an off day or lift up someone’s spirit, letting them know with a relatable post that the weekend is a lot closer than it might feel. I hope I can do just that while being a part of this year’s chapter!

(HC): We can’t wait to see what you have to write about! What do you think would be a controversial but inspiring topic to write about in the next month or so?

(JM): I would love to write about managing your faith and having responsible and safe fun with friends. I’d like to share how my friends and I spend our weekends and how we keep finding different ways to make memories and have fun, while growing in our faith.

(HC): Maybe you’ll just have to write about that! If you could see yourself in ten years, where do you think you’ll be?

(JM): In ten years I would be 29, which is absolutely crazy! I hope to be happy and in love with a really good guy, and using my graphic design skills to work at a catholic organization. I’d also love to finally have a Bernese Mountain dog.

(HC): Hey, that sounds pretty good to me! What is something you’re looking forward to for the rest of the semester?

(JM): There isn’t much time left in the semester, which is also pretty crazy, but I am looking forward to more art classes and continuing to get to know my friends and make new friendships as well.

(HC): It definitely went by really fast! I’m excited for Thanksgiving! Speaking of that, what is your favorite fall holiday?

(JM): My favorite fall holiday is definitely Thanksgiving because I love getting to gather with my extended and seeing some family I haven’t seen since Easter. I love that I have a big extended family and that we make it a priority to get together. I also love getting to eat Thanksgiving dinner!! I love turkey, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie.

(HC): Cool! I don’t like to bring up politics but, if you could make a candidate for the election what would his/her qualities be?

(JM): My dream candidate, male or female, would be responsible, respectful, have strong morals, a respect for life, and a true desire to make America a better, stronger place. At the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter to me whether the president is male or female, I just want the president to care for the nation and be trustworthy.

(HC): That’s pretty inspiring! Last question, and maybe the most important of all, what’s your favorite ice cream flavor?

(JM): My favorite ice cream flavor is pretty specific because the brand makes all the difference! I love Wegman’s chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream because the chunks of cookie dough are so fresh and the ice cream is so creamy! It’s so good.

Thanks so much for being a part of Her Campus St. Vincent! HCXO, always!

St Vincent '18

Hello there! I am the Campus Correspondent of the Her Campus chapter at Saint Vincent College. As a senior psychology major, I've made the most of my time in undergrad and am excited for all the doors I have opening ahead of me. I can definitely thank Her Campus for giving me invaluable skills. As a future psychologist, I hope that my articles (and the chapter's) are able to make you feel empowered, motivate you to start a conversation, and be kind. As a hero of mine has said, "If you do not take control over your time and your life, other people will gobble it up. If you don't prioritize yourself, you constantly start falling lower and lower on your list."- Michelle Obama. Be the change you want to see in the world, and smile. Always smile!
